Almost always the portrait has been in the family for years and in every case, on the reverse, was written Edgar Allen Poe with Allen spelled wrong. It seems every portrait with a young man with dark hair and a mustache must be Poe! Almost always the portrait has been in the family for years and in every case, on the reverse, was written Edgar Allen Poe with Allen spelled wrong.

It seems every portrait with a young man with dark hair and a mustache must be Poe!
